A Costume Rigging Site Is Born!!
For the last few years, I've been getting a lot of requests for assistance with Costume Rigging for Quick Change on Concert Tours, Theater, Film and Beyond.
In 2014, I started working as a Costume Fabrication Specialist at Universal Theme Parks. My job includes a lot of costume rigging alterations on Marvel, Harry Potter, Seuss, Sindbad, Parade, Event and Show costumes the entertainers wear.
Since 2011, I have become an A List Seamstress for Concert Tour performers including most recently Beyonce and was featured in her Behind The Scenes Video, talking about what we were doing to the Balmain Bodysuits to convert them from high fashion to costumes.
Just to be clear, LOL....I DO know the difference between a dart and a gusset, but a cameraman snuck up on me and put a camera in my face, so I was a little bit surprised by the sneak attack!!
Enjoy...
I've posted on my Psycho Seamstress Blog, several stories and links about my costume rigging adventures, but today, I realized after doing a quick google search on "costume rigging" that I seem to be the main person talking about this on Social Media, found several links to my posts and little else.
Being the Social Media Queen that I am, I decided to hop on over to my server and see if the domain name for costumerigging.com was available. It was. Boom, Here I am. Then I jumped onto facebook and did a search there for 'Costume Rigging" and found mostly my own posts.
I created a facebook group called "Costume Rigging Tips & Tricks" and within a few hours 50 people showed up and still counting.
I guess it's safe to say this is a good topic to write about and a lot of people are interested in learning these "Secret Society" techniques.
I've been wanting to write a book on the subject, simply because none exist that I can find and I am not aware of anyone teaching on the subject. I am available for consulting, seminars, teaching or any other offers anyone would like to throw my way.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on the subject, questions, comments and most of all, I'd love to find some other people who'd like to contribute to the content of this blog!!
